Long-range missiles? Emp their radar, the missiles, or their AA so you can get in with enough aircraft to take them out. Long-range Artillery? Plasma deflector shields, and send in a strike force to take out the artillery. NONE! Your enemy tries nukes? Build anti-nukes. There is no unstoppable weapon or tactic in BAR. On top of it all, the balance is just plain phenomenal. All of this combines into a very interesting game with so many interesting tactics that I have yet to get bored of it, and I haven't felt like playing a different RTS game since I got into BAR. Projectile-based weapons on the top of a cliff have more range Vehicles move slowly up steep hills Bots can go where other units can't, especially all-terrain bots Radar is blocked by terrain. Another thing, the terrain matters far more than any RTS I've played before. Or, at least, if there are it doesn't mean that whatever tactic you use won't do equally as well if you implement it thoughtfully. There are just so many units, and since each has it's own role and you can combine multiple units, seemingly infinite tactics to try! This doesn't seem to be a game where there are meta strategies, either. Every unit in the game truly does have its own role, meaning the game is incredibly difficult to get bored of. TrustworthyRindr's Experience BAR (short for Beyond All Reason) is hands down my favourite ground-based RTS.
